Oxidation products of 1-(4-Benzyloxy-3-methoxyphenyl)ethanone (BMPEA) are found in a variety of food products, including energy drinks. BMPEA is a molecule that has been investigated for clinical development as an anti-inflammatory drug. It is thought to have potential use in the treatment of cancer, obesity, and diabetes.
