Información del producto
- Glyoxal monoethylmercaptal2,2-Bis(ethylthio)ethanal
2,2-Bis(ethylthio)acetaldehyde is a cyclic compound that can be synthesized from glyoxal and an anion. This compound is a nucleophile that reacts with halides to form alkyl halides. It has been shown to react with imines to form β-unsaturated ketones in high yield. 2,2-Bis(ethylthio)acetaldehyde can also be prepared by the addition of a sulphonate to an α-alkylated ketone. This chemical has chiral properties, which means it can exist as two different forms that are mirror images of each other. The spontaneous reaction of 2,2-bis(ethylthio)acetaldehyde with acidic hydrolysis gives macrocyclic compounds.
