• Descripción: 6-Bromo-2(1H)-quinolinone is an inhibitor of reductase enzymes, which are involved in the synthesis of steroids. It is a heterocycle with a substituent on the 2 position and an isozyme that is active in humans. The coupling of 6-Bromo-2(1H)-quinolinone to other substrates has been shown to be selective for reductases, such as 3alpha-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase. This compound inhibits the activity of human 3alpha-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase and can be used for the treatment of Cushing's syndrome, acne vulgaris, and hirsutism.
