• Descripción: Bardoxolone methyl is a novel compound that has been shown to be a potent inducer of erythropoietin. It is also an inhibitor of the transcriptional factor, nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB), and it has been shown to have potent anti-inflammatory effects in vitro. In vivo studies have demonstrated that bardoxolone methyl significantly reduces the incidence and severity of bowel disease in a rat model. The drug also inhibits cardiac fibrosis and heart failure in rats with chronic kidney disease. Finally, bardoxolone methyl has been shown to increase natriuretic peptide levels in both mice and humans.
