1,2-Benzodiazole is a heterocyclic aromatic organic compound. It can be used as an intermediate in the synthesis of indazoles, pyrazoles and other heterocycles. 1,2-Benzodiazole has been shown to inhibit the growth of resistant mutants that have developed due to metabolic disorders or infectious diseases. 1,2-Benzodiazole also has anti-inflammatory properties and is effective in reducing autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis. In addition, this compound has been shown to have biological properties such as inhibition of basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) activity and induction of caspase 8-dependent apoptosis in human cell lines. Preparative high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) has been used to separate 1,2-benzodiazole derivatives with redox potentials ranging from -0.0737 V for 4-(4'-hydroxyphenyl)-1,2-diaz
