4-Bromoisoindolin-1-one is a benzyl and alkoxy group that is used in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals. It has been shown to have anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory properties, as well as the ability to induce angiogenesis. 4-Bromoisoindolin-1-one also exhibits chiral properties, which means it can be synthesized with both (R) or (S) configurations. This compound can be used as a phosphatidylinositol derivative, which are lipids that are important in cell signal transduction. 4-Bromoisoindolin-1-one has been shown to inhibit the production of prostaglandin E2 by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes, including COX2, leading to a reduction in inflammation.
