Descripción

Bromopyridinone is a potent inhibitor of the acetylation of histones at lysine residues. It inhibits the activity of histone acetyltransferases (HATs) and histone deacetylases (HDACs) by binding to the active site. Bromopyridinone also has a high affinity for acidic regions on proteins, which may be due to its phosphonic acid functional group. Bromopyridinone is an inhibitor of bacterial growth, with a MIC range from 10-20 µM. It is most effective against mycobacterium, with a MIC of 8 µM. Bromopyridinone also has anti-inflammatory properties in animal models, which are due to its inhibitory effects on prostaglandin synthesis.
