This drug also causes peroxidation of lipids and DNA damage in hepatic tissues. 1-(Bromomethyl)-3-phenoxybenzene is not metabolized by mammals, but is converted by oxidation into 3-phenoxybenzaldehyde, which is then metabolized into mevalonate and benzyl esters.
