2-Bromo-6-chloropyridine is a synthetic, nucleophilic bidentate ligand that is used in the synthesis of vismodegib. It inhibits the growth of cancer cells by inhibiting a pathway that regulates cell division and differentiation. 2-Bromo-6-chloropyridine can be used as a cross-coupling agent for the synthesis of other chemicals.
