Descripción:3-Bromotoluene is a hydrocarbon that is used in industry as a solvent and precursor to other chemical compounds. It can be synthesized from the reaction of anhydrous acetonitrile with sodium sulfide and an aryl chloride or an aryl bromide. 3-Bromotoluene has been shown to be effective for the treatment of the H1N1 pandemic covid-19 virus, which has also shown resistance to antiviral drugs. The drug blocks protein production by inhibiting ribosomal RNA synthesis and thus prevents viral replication. 3-Bromotoluene can also inhibit bacterial growth through its ability to bind to DNA and prevent transcription.
