2-Bromoisonicotinic acid is a phenylpyridine molecule that has been shown to have inhibitory activity against the NF-κB pathway, which regulates inflammatory responses. This compound inhibits the production of TNF-α triggered by lipopolysaccharide (LPS) in vitro and in vivo. 2-Bromoisonicotinic acid may be synthesized from commercially available starting materials and can be easily scaled up for large-scale synthesis.
