Descripción:3-Bromobenzyl chloride is an organic compound that belongs to the class of diamidines. It is a crystalline solid with a melting point of 179 °C and a boiling point of 522 °C. 3-Bromobenzyl chloride has a molecular weight of 224.3 g/mol and an empirical formula of CHBrClN. This chemical is used in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals, such as phenytoin, amantadine, and metoclopramide. The crystal structure was determined using X-ray diffraction data collected on a crystal grown from dichloromethane. 3-Bromobenzyl chloride has been shown to have high uptake in femur tissue and to be unsymmetrical with respect to the hydrogen atoms on the nitrogens in its molecule. This chemical also has good chemical stability and fluorescence properties.
