Descripción:3-Bromo-5-nitrobenzoic acid is a cancer drug that inhibits the proliferation of cancer cells by binding to amines, which are protonated at physiological pH. This binding leads to an electronic interaction between the bromine atom and the electron cloud of the amine group. The bromine atom is then more attracted to the nucleus, causing it to emit a photon of light. This process is called fluorescence and can be used for imaging cancer cells. 3-Bromo-5-nitrobenzoic acid also has potent antiproliferative activity against cancer cells, which may be due to its ability to bind ligands on target proteins in the cell membrane. It can also lead to apoptosis by interfering with the formation of supramolecular complexes or inhibiting protein synthesis.
