N-Benzyl-N-ethyl-m-toluidine is a synthetic surfactant used in the manufacture of detergents and cleaning agents. It is synthesised by heating aniline with benzaldehyde and ethylene glycol, a process that also produces benzaldehyde. N-Benzyl-N-ethyl-m-toluidine can be found as an anionic surfactant in sodium soaps and as a cationic surfactant in ammonium soaps. The electron microscope image shows the particle's morphology to be spherical or ellipsoidal, with some particles showing a fibrous morphology. The emission spectrum shows the chemical structure to be C6H7NO2.
