7-Benzyloxy-4-chloro-6-methoxyquinazoline (7BMCQ) is a new anilinoquinazoline compound with potent inhibitory activity against tyrosine kinases. 7BMCQ has been found to inhibit the growth of cancer cells in vitro and in vivo at nanomolar concentrations. This drug also has antibacterial activity, which may be due to its ability to inhibit bacterial enzymes, such as bacterial enzyme β-lactamase. This drug has a hydroxyl group that can form hydrogen bonds with water molecules, making it soluble in water.
7BMCQ has shown potent inhibitory effects on platelet-derived growth factor receptor (PDGFR) and on vascular endothelial cell growth factor (VEGF), both of which are key factors in angiogenesis and vasculogenesis.
