It has been shown to be a reactive site for the hepatitis virus. 2-Bromophenylphenylmethanone's metastable form is more stable than its other forms and can emit light when exposed to radiation, such as ultraviolet light. The structure of 2-Bromophenylphenylmethanone consists of two phenyl groups and two methoxy groups attached to an aromatic hydrocarbon ring. This compound is used in the manufacture of dyes and pharmaceuticals.
