9,9-Bis(4-amino-3-fluorophenyl)fluorene is a benzonitrile that has an optical band gap of 1.97 eV. It can be polymerized to form polymers with high thermal and optical expansion. 9,9-Bis(4-amino-3-fluorophenyl)fluorene is soluble in organic solvents such as chloroform and acetone. It is used as a monomer in the preparation of polymers with high efficiency and low cost due to its ability to be polymerized under mild conditions. The molecular structure of the compound consists of two benzene rings linked by a single amide bond. The amine group on one ring is linked to the fluoro group on the other ring through an ester linkage.
