2-Bromo-9,9-dimethyl-9H-fluorene (2BDMF) is a synthetic compound that belongs to the group of aromatic compounds. It is used in organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs), as a hole transport material in polymerized OLEDs, and as a monomer for synthesizing polymers. 2BDMF has photophysical, luminescence and optical properties. This compound is also used in the production of other aromatic compounds such as anthracene. The efficiency of 2BDMF can be increased by replacing the hydrogen atoms with fluorine atoms at the ortho position.
