Boc-3-(2-naphthyl)-D-alanine is an endogenous peptide that has been synthesised and validated for use in the detection of human urine. It can be detected using chromatographic or spectrometric methods. Boc-3-(2-naphthyl)-D-alanine is a linear peptide with mass of 4138 Daltons and a molecular weight of 402.5 g/mol. It has been synthesised by Liquid Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry (LCMS). The synthetic process uses 3-(2-naphthyl)alanine as the starting material, which was converted to 3-(2-naphthyl)-D-alanine using the reductive amination reaction.
