Boc-L-methionine 4-nitrophenyl ester is a fluorophosphate that is soluble in water. It has been shown to be thermally stable and lipotropic, meaning it helps the body break down fats. Boc-L-methionine 4-nitrophenyl ester is also resistant to high salt concentrations and can be solubilized in amide. This chemical has been shown to be a residue of pulchella, which is a type of bacteria found in the human gastrointestinal tract. Studies have shown that hydrogen fluoride can inactivate this chemical within minutes.
