Boc-D-alanine N-hydroxysuccinimide ester is a synthese reagent used to synthesize 5-methylcytosine and uridine analogues. It reacts with the amino group of D-alanine to form an amide bond, which is then hydrolyzed to form an N-hydroxysuccinimide ester. Boc-D-alanine N-hydroxysuccinimide ester has been used in the synthesis of 2-chloroadenosine, cytidine, and 5-methylcytosine. These compounds are analogues of thymidine, cytidine, and uridine.
