4-(4-Bromophenoxy)phenol is a white crystalline solid that is soluble in tetrahydrofuran, chloroform, and dimethylformamide. It has a melting point of 117 °C and a boiling point of 254 °C. 4-(4-Bromophenoxy)phenol has been shown to produce singlet oxygen, which is responsible for the photochemical properties of this compound. The fluorescence spectrum of 4-(4-bromophenoxy)phenol exhibits a maximum emission wavelength at around 275 nm and an excitation wavelength range between 240-280 nm. The fluorescence quantum yield for 4-(4-bromophenoxy)phenol is 0.065%.
