Descripción:2-Bromo-3'-bromoacetophenone is a chemical compound that can be used as an oxidant in organic synthesis. It is a brominated phenol derivative, which undergoes bond cleavage to produce benzoylbenzene and acetone. The reaction is mediated by potassium permanganate in the presence of oxygen. X-ray crystallography and crystallography have been used to identify the molecular structure of 2-bromo-3'-bromoacetophenone. The yield for this reaction is high and can be increased by using solvents such as ethanol or tetrahydrofuran and a reaction time of 1 hour at 100°C.
