Descripción:
(S)-1-Benzyl-3-hydroxypiperidine is an alkaline substance that is used as a catalytic agent in the reduction of pyridine to dihydropyridine. It has been shown to be a practical and high yielding synthesis of 2-chloroethyl chloride, which is used in the production of neoprene rubber. (S)-1-Benzyl-3-hydroxypiperidine also catalyzes the reduction of nickel ions to nickel metal by magnesium or ammonium salt. This process can be used in the production of dyes and pigments.
