Descripción:6-Bromo-1H-indole-3-carboxylic acid is a natural product that is isolated from the marine sponge Smenospongia purpurea. It was first reported in 1979 and has been used for the synthesis of other compounds. 6-Bromoindole, a precursor to 6-bromo-1H-indole-3-carboxylic acid, is biosynthesized from methyl ester and NMR spectra indicate that it has a dihedral angle of 173°. This compound has been shown to have antibacterial activity against staphylococcus.
