The enatioselectivity and enantioselectively depend on the substituents on the molecule. This compound has been shown to inhibit pancreatic lipase in porcine pancreatic tissue preparations. It also has potential use in screening for new drugs that inhibit protein synthesis enzymes such as ribonucleotide reductase and protein kinases.
