Descripción:1,2-Benzenedisulfonyl Dichloride is a sulfonamide that has shown to be an effective antagonist of glutamate receptors (N-methyl-D-aspartate) in the central nervous system. The drug binds to the receptor and prevents the binding of glutamate, which is needed for its activation. It also inhibits the production of inflammatory cytokines such as IL-1β, IL-6, and TNFα by blocking proton influx into the cells. 1,2-Benzenedisulfonyl Dichloride has been found to be effective in treating inflammation in animals and humans. It has a short half life in plasma and liver, making it suitable for use with other drugs.
