Descripción:1-Bromo-4-butylbenzene (1BB) is a synthetic compound that can be used for the preparation of carbon-carbon bonds. 1BB can be synthesized by a cross-coupling reaction with boronic acids and phosphite as catalysts. The electron-deficient nature of 1BB makes it suitable for reactions involving electron-rich substrates, such as aryl chlorides. The use of 1BB has been pioneered by Professor Yves Chauvin. It is an efficient method to add functional groups to aryl halides, which are not possible with the previously used methods. Morphology studies show that 1BB crystals have the shape of truncated octahedrons and are colorless crystals.
