Descripción:2-Bromoanthracene is a fluorescent probe that absorbs ultraviolet and visible light. It is used in organic chemistry as an aromatic hydrocarbon for the preparation of other compounds. 2-Bromoanthracene can be synthesized from anthracene by the Suzuki coupling reaction, which involves the use of chloride as a catalyst. The molecule has a high vapor pressure and emits vapors that are toxic to humans. 2-Bromoanthracene reacts with hydrochloric acid to produce hydrogen bromide gas and bromine water.
