• Descripción: Bis(2-ethylhexyl) maleate is a fatty acid that is used in pharmaceutical preparations as a basic structure. It has a reactive hydroxyl group and can be used as a chemical species. Bis(2-ethylhexyl) maleate is an alkanoic acid that can be converted to maleic acid by reacting with water vapor. This conversion increases the reactivity of the hydroxyl group, which makes it useful for reactions with other chemicals. Bis(2-ethylhexyl) maleate also reacts with calcium stearate to form dimethyl fumarate, which is used in the production of polycarboxylic acids.
