- 2,2-Bithiophene-5-carboxaldehyde
- 2,2'-Bithiophene-5-Carbaldehyde
2,2'-Bithiophene-5-carboxaldehyde is a natural product that has been found to have anti-inflammatory activity. It has been shown to inhibit the production of platelet-activating factor (PAF) and nitric oxide (NO) from LPS-stimulated human platelets. This compound also inhibits the production of PAF in a cell line stimulated with thiophenes and shows significant anti-inflammatory activity when it is exposed to radiation or nitrite. 2,2'-Bithiophene-5-carboxaldehyde forms an orthorhombic crystal structure with a melting point at 115 °C.
