Descripción:S-Timolol maleate is a cardioselective beta blocker that has been shown to lower the diastolic pressure and improve the function of the heart. S-Timolol maleate inhibits the enzyme that converts hydrogen ions into hydroxyl ions, which are necessary for the conversion of fatty acids to energy. It also reduces cardiac rate and blood pressure by inhibiting the transmission of nerve impulses. This drug has been shown to be effective in treating anginal attacks, ventricular dysfunction, and cardiac arrhythmias. S-Timolol maleate also slows down metabolic reactions in cells, which increases resistance to thermal expansion.
