2-Bromobenzene-1,3-dialdehyde is a synthetic organic molecule that can be synthesised in two steps from ethyl diazoacetate. It has been used as a palladium complex for cancer treatment and the synthesis of other organic compounds. 2-Bromobenzene-1,3-dialdehyde has been shown to possess anti-cancer properties due to its ability to inhibit cell growth and induce apoptosis. The molecule also has the ability to inhibit corrosion of metals by chloride ions and naphthalene. 2-Bromobenzene-1,3-dialdehyde is a red fluorescent compound with a molecular weight of 186.2 g/mol and contains both aldehyde groups and ether groups.
