5-Bromo-2-fluorophenol is an organic solvent that is used in hydrotalcite to extract biphenyl. 5-Bromo-2-fluorophenol has been shown to have a high affinity for the cavity of hydrotalcite, which is a desorption technique. It can also be used to extract supramolecular systems and biomolecules, such as proteins and nucleic acids.
