This compound has been shown to have inhibitory activity against Hl-60 cells, and it inhibits mitochondrial membrane potential in these cells. 2-Benzyloxyacetophenone also inhibits camp levels in Hl-60 cells. It has also been shown to have anticancer activity in vitro and in vivo. This compound is a β-unsaturated ketone that is derived from chalcones, which are known to be anticancer compounds.
