Descripción

5-Bromo-2-furohydrazide is a medicinal compound that has antibacterial and antimicrobial properties. It was synthesised in the laboratory as an analogue of 5-bromo-2,4-difluorohydrazide and has shown antiinflammatory, analgesic, and cardiotonic properties. 5-Bromo-2-furohydrazide is active against Gram negative bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Klebsiella pneumoniae. It has also been shown to be active against Gram positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis and Enterococcus faecalis. The mechanism of action of this compound is not yet known.
