• Descripción: 2-Butoxyethyl acetate is a fatty acid ester with the chemical formula CH2OCH2C(O)CH(CH3)CO2CH3. It is an oily liquid that can be obtained by reacting methyl myristate with ethylene oxide in the presence of a catalyst, such as hydrogen chloride. 2-Butoxyethyl acetate has been shown to inhibit the production of prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) in animal experiments and has also been shown to have low toxicity for human cells. 2-Butoxyethyl acetate can be used as a solvent for some analytical chemistry tests, such as carbonyl group analysis using phosphotungstic acid or nutrient solution, and it has optical properties that make it suitable for use in magnetic resonance spectroscopy.
