N,N-Bis(4,4,4-Trifluorobutyl)Nitrous Amide is a nitrosamine that is metabolized by cytochrome P450 to form 3-methylamino-1,2,4-trinitrobenzene. The carcinogenic potential of this compound has been evaluated in Sprague Dawley rats. The carcinogenicity of N,N-bis(4,4,4-Trifluorobutyl)Nitrous Amide was observed to be multifocal with malignant changes in the bladder and liver in both sexes. This compound also has pharmacokinetic properties that are characterized by a high affinity for proteins and a low clearance rate.
