Tert-butyl 2-(trifluoromethyl)acrylate is an organic compound with the chemical formula CF3C(O)OC(CH3)3. It is a colorless liquid that polymerizes in the presence of heat or light. Tert-butyl 2-(trifluoromethyl)acrylate can be used as a monomer for the synthesis of polymers, such as polyesters and polyamides, which are stable and have low yield. The copolymerization process is carried out catalytically, making it more efficient than noncatalytic processes.
