Descripción:
Di-tert-butyl phthalate (DBP) is a chemical that belongs to the group of benzyl esters. It reacts with a chromophore in the presence of light to produce a fluorescent product. DBP has been shown to have toxic effects on the liver and kidneys, as well as reproductive toxicity in vivo. DBP may also be linked with neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease. This chemical is used primarily as a plasticizer in polyvinyl chloride plastics and resins, but has also been found in many other products such as food packaging, clothing, and adhesives.
