Imidazo[1,2-a]pyridin-3-ylmethanol (IM) is a heterocyclic compound that has been used as a fluorescent sensor for acidic environments. IM has been shown to emit fluorescence when it reacts with hydroxymethyl groups in the presence of solvents. This reaction is an example of fluorescence emission.
