5-Chloro-2-methoxyaniline is a chemical compound that is an isomer of 2-methoxyaniline. It has binding affinity for the receptor site and inhibitory properties. 5-Chloro-2-methoxyaniline has been shown to prevent the growth of triticum aestivum, a type of wheat, by suppressing suppressor genes. This chemical also inhibits nitrification in soil and has antibacterial activities against Gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes, and Bacillus subtilis.
