2-Chloro-4,6-diamino-1,3,5-triazine is a chemical that is used in the production of chlorine and as a disinfectant. It can also be found in urine samples due to its widespread use in the food industry. 3-Mercaptopropionic acid may be formed when 2-chloro-4,6-diamino-1,3,5-triazine reacts with sodium chloride. The protonation of 2 chloro 4,6 diamino 1,3,5 triazine and 3 mercaptopropionate may occur if the pH is not neutral. Neutralization of 2 chloro 4,6 diamino 1,3,5 triazine will result in the formation of two products: chloride ions and cyanuric acid.
