Descripción:The drug 9-Chloro-6a-Fluoro-11b-Hydroxy-21-Acetoxy-16a-Methylpregna-1,4-Diene-3,20-Dione (CLOMID) is a polymeric matrix that is used to treat patients with choroidal neovascularization. CLOMID is delivered in an ophthalmic form and has been shown to be well tolerated. Clinical studies have shown that the drug has high values for long term efficacy and low toxicity. The drug interacts with other drugs such as warfarin and can cause severe side effects, including liver damage. CLOMID may also have a role in the treatment of inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and Crohn's disease due to its antiinflammatory properties.
