Y-27632 is a chemical that inhibits the production of neurotrophic factors, which are essential to the survival and development of neurons. It also has inhibitory properties against cell death induced by diverse stimuli, including chemical biology and pharmacological agents. Y-27632 has been shown to have an effect on body formation in vivo models, inhibiting the growth and proliferation of pluripotent cells and inducing epithelial mesenchymal transition. In addition, it has been found to be effective as an inhibitor of human serum growth factor-β1 (HGF) in vitro.
