This substance has been shown to have an effect on infectious diseases caused by bacteria such as Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Mycobacterium avium complex. Carfentrazone-ethyl also has anti-inflammatory properties that may be due to its benzimidazole compounds. These compounds inhibit the production of prostaglandins, which are important mediators in many inflammatory responses.
