3-Chloro-4-fluorophenyl)boronic acid (3CFPBA) is a boronic acid that is used in asymmetric synthesis. It has high lipophilicity and can be taken up by the brain. 3CFPBA has been shown to bind to naphthalene, which is a natural compound, with a binding constant of 2.6 x 10^10 M^-1. This molecule has been found to inhibit the production of beta amyloid peptides in Alzheimer's disease . 3CFPBA also binds to other heterocycles such as furan and pyrrole, which are found in molecules such as phenol and benzene respectively.
