Chloromethyl-4-trifluoromethoxybenzene is a chemical that is used as an enzyme preparation in the process of tracheal intubation. It reacts with human immunoglobulin and polyclonal antibodies to form cleavage products. Chloromethyl-4-trifluoromethoxybenzene binds to receptors on target cells, which triggers a change in the cell's function. This chemical has been shown to be effective against cancer cells in vitro and is being investigated for its potential use in cancer diagnosis. The irreversible inhibition of cholinesterase by chloromethyl-4-trifluoromethoxybenzene means that there will not be any recovery from this inhibition even if the chemical is removed from the organism.
