Descripción

Beta-casomorphin (1-5) is a synthetic peptide that blocks opioid receptors. It has been shown to be an effective treatment for lung function in children with cystic fibrosis. Beta-casomorphin has also been shown to enhance the effectiveness of naloxone, an antagonist of opioid receptors, in blocking morphine-induced respiratory depression. This peptide was detected by LC-MS/MS methods and was found to be expressed in the hippocampal CA1 region of rats. Beta-casomorphin (1-5) can be analysed using a variety of spectrometry methods, including mass spectrometry and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy.
