2-Cyano-N-1-naphthylacetamide is a bacteriostatic agent that belongs to the group of salicylaldehyde. This binding prevents the formation of ATP, leading to cell death. 2-Cyano-N-1-naphthylacetamide also has antimicrobial properties due to its ability to inhibit microbial growth by inhibiting the synthesis of DNA and RNA.
